Understanding Your Pregnancy Options

If you’re facing an unplanned pregnancy, there are different options available. You can learn more about those options and the resources that may help you understand them.

Step 1

Explore Your Options

Finding out you’re pregnant when you didn’t plan for it? That’s a lot to process. Adoption is one option out there, and it’s worth learning about, what it looks like today, how it works, and whether it could be the right move for you and your baby. No judgment, no pressure. Just real info so you can make the choice that’s right for you, on your own timeline.

Step 2

Talk to Someone Who Gets It

Reaching out first is honestly the hardest part, and you’re already doing it. Hit us up by phone, text, or our online form, whatever’s easiest for you. It’s free and totally confidential. We’ll answer your questions and break down your options so you can figure out what feels right, no strings attached.

Step 3

Make Your Adoption Plan

We’ll work with you to shape an adoption plan around what you want. You choose the type of adoption, open, semi-open, or closed, and how much contact feels right, now and down the road. Your plan can also cover what you’re looking for in an adoptive family, how you want your hospital stay to go, and how you’d like to stay in touch after placement.

Step 4

Connect With the Family You Choose

Whenever you’re ready, reach out by text, call, video chat, or email. Many birth mothers find this stage brings real connection. The pace and boundaries are entirely up to you; you’re always in control of how much you share.

Step 5

Get the Real Talk on Next Steps

A Caring Connection will walk you through your rights as a birth mother, explain consent timelines, and cover anything specific to your state. Nothing gets signed until you fully understand your options and feel ready. You’re free to change your mind at any point before that.

Step 6

Ongoing Support

You won’t go through this alone. From now through delivery, you’ll have someone checking in regularly and ready to listen. Where allowed by state law, we can also help connect you with support for pregnancy-related expenses like rent, phone, food and transportation.

Step 7

Your Birth, Your Way

This is your moment, and we want it to feel that way. Together, we’ll create a hospital plan around what feels right for you: who you want by your side, how much time you spend holding your baby, when the adoptive family joins you, and which photos or keepsakes you’ll want to keep.

If things are moving fast and you’re considering a last-minute adoption, you’re not alone. We can meet you right at the hospital, help you get to know families, and support you through every choice, whatever pace you need.

Step 8

The Placement

There’s no script for this moment, only what feels right to you. Some birth mothers want more time holding their baby, others feel ready sooner to see them settle into their new family’s arms. Either way is okay.

Once any waiting period passes and you’re ready, you’ll take the final legal step to place your baby with the family you’ve chosen. It’s one of the most profound moments you’ll experience, and you won’t face it alone. We’ll be right there with you.
